An Anti-Communist Christmas

Beginning in the early 1960s, Christian Anti-Communism Crusade founder Fred C. Schwarz (1913-2009) was so obsessed with defeating the Reds that he was not above exploiting Christmas for donations. CONELRAD obtained one of his appeals and, in the spirit of the holidays, presents it below.

Pay particular attention to how Dr. Schwarz studiously avoids the term “Christmas” in his pitch. Could it be that this is an early, unlikely example of political correctness? Or was the rabid anti-communist simply too ashamed to name the holy day in his shameless plea for cash? You be the judge…
